Luna is a product of Irenium, a company registered in Nigeria. Luna helps freelancers and small business owners create professional invoices from WhatsApp chat.

In this policy, "Luna", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Irenium and its Luna product. "You" refers to any individual who uses our service.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data: your name, email address, phone number, and business name when you create an account.
  • Invoice data: client names, client phone numbers, item descriptions, amounts, and your bank or payment details that you enter when creating invoices.
  • Message data: the content of messages you exchange with Luna via WhatsApp, including invoice details you share.
  • Usage data: IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, and interaction timestamps — collected automatically when you use the service.
  • Payment data: if applicable, payment transactions are handled by third-party processors. We do not store full card or bank details on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Generate invoices from your WhatsApp messages and return the PDF to your chat.
  • Authenticate and manage your account (via Clerk).
  • Store and retrieve your invoice history.
  • Improve and maintain the Luna service.
  • Respond to your support and enquiry requests.
  • Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

Legal basis: processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you and for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service.

4. WhatsApp & Meta

Luna uses the WhatsApp Cloud API, operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. When you interact with Luna through WhatsApp, the message content is transmitted through Meta's infrastructure to reach your WhatsApp account.

Meta processes this data in accordance with their own Data Policy. We encourage you to review it.

Important points about how Luna uses WhatsApp:

  • We only send WhatsApp messages to your registered number and the business number you connect to Luna. We do not message your customers or clients on your behalf.
  • You can opt out of receiving messages from Luna at any time by replying STOP to any Luna message.
  • Luna does not use WhatsApp message content for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than generating and returning your invoices.

5. Third-Party Services

Luna works with a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform. Each processes personal data only as required to provide their service to us.

  • Meta / WhatsApp — message delivery via the WhatsApp Cloud API.
  • Clerk — user authentication and session management.
  • Convex — database and backend infrastructure.
  • Vercel — web hosting and content delivery.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

6. Data Retention

  • Invoice data is retained for 7 years to meet Nigerian tax and accounting record-keeping requirements.
  • Account data is deleted within 30 days of a verified account deletion request.
  • WhatsApp message logs are retained for 90 days and then permanently purged from our systems.
  • Usage and analytics data is retained in anonymised or aggregated form after 12 months.

7. Your Rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format.
  • Opt out of WhatsApp messages — reply STOP to any Luna message, or contact us directly.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and audit logging. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].
